“It worked!”  wrote a happy traveler upon returning form a week long trip.  My travel cluster of clothes met my every need, including total comfort in hot and cool weather!”  Traveling with only carry-on luggage makes life easier, but means not taking much!  It means taking one small, well planned, cluster of clothes in which everything goes with everything else.  This resilient traveler took with her one skirt, one pair of pants, three tops, and one jacket plus a belt, jewelry, and two pairs of shoes.  That was it for one week and it all fit into her roller-board, along with pjs, underwear, stockings, essential grooming needs, and a couple of books.  With six easy pieces she could dress up or dress down, as she liked.

For this pictured cluster, we took a very similar approach, starting with a trendy striped skirt that can also be worn as a dress, if you’re petite.  Three different tops, including a white shirt that is about as versatile as it gets.  Layer the big shirt over the sleeveless top like a shirt jac, wear tucked into the capris, or tie a knot in the front and wear it with the skirt.  The yellow tee is casual and cool.  The sleeveless top can be worn in the evening with pants or on a sunny day with the skirt.  Add the jacket to any of the tops or dress when you are looking to have more visual authority or to keep warm.  The shoes are chosen with comfort in mind. Nothing is worse than traveling with blisters!  Add a belt to create a terrific focal point and pull the look together and you are set for a week.

Don’t forget the sunglasses and a couple of books, you are now ready to take a vacation from worrying about your clothes.  Happy traveling!
