Prom dresses have been a hot topic recently with reports of girls being suspended and paddled for wearing prom dresses that violate dress codes to their high school prom. With it has come quite the controversy over hemlines, necklines, dress codes, and a girls’ prerogative to wear what she wants, with people on both sides voicing their opinions.
I can’t believe that mothers let high-school girls buy these dresses for prom.

As teenage girls look for trendy, shocking, sexy, and unique looks for prom, one thing they may not be considering is what their choice of prom dress communicates to others — and their date.
What do these strapless, backless gowns with high hemlines and low necklines communicate?
As a rule of thumb, the more skin we show, the more available we make ourselves. Bare skin invites touch. Cleavage distracts while attracting attention. And what about belly baring gowns? Take it from a guy who knows what he wants.
Why are we so navel retentive? Because we know it’s only a stone’s throw from the real goods.
Some of the prom dresses on the market today are enough to get the imagination racing.
Take a tip from Hollywood legends Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn and today’s Natalie Portman and Ann Hathaway. Classic and classy styling never goes out of fashion.
