AICI, the Association for Image Consultants International, recently held their International Conference in Vancouver, Canada, with enthusiastic attendees from over 25 countries!
Our Mountain States Chapter of AICI was well represented with the new president, Tina Gill, past president, Judith Rasband, VP of membership, Laura Rubeli, secretary, Sarah Ward, and treasurer, Carol Steinbrecher.
We were delighted with the learnings from Convention! Here is one of our highlights:
Deborah King, founder of Final Touch Finishing School (and a Conselle Affiliate), taught a remarkable session entitled “Civility Counts.” In response to the widespread decline in respectful behavior that’s making global headlines, May has officially been heralded as National Civility Month. In harmony with the civility code of conduct — respect, restraint, and responsibility — Deborah has spearheaded a heartwarming initiative called “Caught in the Act!” Civility Cards. For those times when you encounter someone who is especially courteous and kind during your day, you can give the individual one of these cards as a small gesture to show your appreciation for who they are and how they are making the world a nicer place to live. On a recent business trip, Deborah gave a TSA agent one of these “Caught in the Act!” cards and received a thank you card from him saying what a pleasure it was to know “there are still a few good people that appreciate others and what they do to try and make our sometimes confused world a more viable place to live.”
Did you attend the AICI Conference in Vancouver? What was your biggest takeaway?
